Another Avalon "beautiful boutique" is IMS now called Fundquest after their purchase by BNP Paribas. Fund quest is the multi-manger of Richard Timberlake who is one of the global innovators of "fund of funds" over 20 years.

Timberlake set up Fidelity in UK/Europe in 1979 and recruited Anthony Bolton...twice !  He then set up an iconic company called Fund Research which was sold to S&P in 1997. Fund Research was game changing in that it pioneered qualitative analysis as the key determinant to performance. Fund Research Ltd inaugurated the genre of well... "fund research" ...and was the early fore-runner to today's media giants like  Citywire, Investment week and OBSR. Fundquest's flagship Select fund is AAA Rated by S&PFR 

And Avalon also have access to Timberlake's niche fund Special Sits which is a non-benchmarked go anywhere multi-managerfund.

There are four FundQuest Investment Funds: CF FundQuest Select, CF FundQuest Global Select, CF FundQuest Select Income and CF FundQuest Select Opportunities.

The CF FundQuest Select Fund is our ‘window to the world' and is one of the leading funds in the Investment Management Association (IMA) Active Managed Sector. It has a AAA fund management rating from Standard & Poor's Fund Research (S&PFR) and an AA rating from Old Broad Street Research (OBSR). 

The CF FundQuest Global Select Fund sits in the Lipper Equity Global Sector. It has an A rating from S&PFR. 

The CF FundQuest Select Income Fund sits in the IMA Cautious Managed Sector.

The most recent addition is the CF FundQuest Select Opportunities Fund, which seeks to add value over an economic cycle utilising a more unconstrained portfolio management approach.This fund has an AA rating from S&PFR. Paul Kim is the senior portfolio manager in this area.
